So I’m trying to streamline a lot of the things in my motorhome and my dashboard is paramount! There was just too many wires going in all directions and I wanted to get rid of the tacky 110 power inverter. This is what it looked like before:
Notice the blank cover under the inverter. That’s what I’m going to use as a mounting point.
So I went to Amazon and started looking for an alternative. This seemed to be the best product for the money, and it had an additional feature I really liked! The voltage monitor for my coach battery!

Cllena Triple Function Dual USB Charger + LED Voltmeter + 12V Outlet Power Socket
I already had a unused 10A hot wire under the dash from an old accessory, so this made it even easier for me, I didn’t have to tap or run one. I crimped all three of the hot wires to the + feed and piggy backed the ground wires together. Oh, by the way, I used the mounting bracket that came with the accessory as a template to cut out the holes from the dash plate to look more like a factory install.
And here is the before and after! I had an unused switch on the dash from an old accessory and I repurposed it to control the outlets. So now I have the following, without all the mess:
- 12V cigarette lighter plug
- Voltage meter
- Two USB ports: 5V, 1A & 5V, 2.1A
Now I have to get out the Goo-B-Gone and clean up the dash board!
